Who is Francis Lazare?
I was born in Indonesia (the former Dutch East Indies) in 1947 and moved to the Netherlands with my family at the age of seven, during the profound changes that followed Indonesia’s independence. I spent my school years in the Netherlands.
After completing my education, I became self-employed and ran two retail stores and a wholesale business.
After selling these businesses, I took on management positions in sales, logistics and production.
During my final 17 years in the Netherlands, I was part of a three-person management team, with direct responsibility for the day-to-day organization and management of our employees. My responsibilities included production, logistics, purchasing, safety, building maintenance and overall security.
In 1998, I moved to Tenerife and started a new chapter as a real estate agent. I subsequently established my own companies in cleaning and maintenance, which grew over the years from zero to more than 40 employees.
Two years later, I established a second limited company to support further expansion, enabling us to undertake renovation and new-build projects.
Through these activities, I helped many people find accommodation and assisted them with permits, business administration and legal matters. This was how I first came into contact with Grupo Ropasa, and I became friends with its owner, José Amaro.
Since 2015, we have helped and advised numerous clients on legal, tax and administrative matters, as well as notarial issues and investments, both with and without subsidies.
José is a lawyer and now runs a large administration and advisory firm with more than 25 employees, including 8 lawyers and legal professionals.
Together, we have been handling administrative and legal matters for more than 10 years. And, of course, we have never lost sight of our investment plans.
All these activities have now been brought together under Frazare-Invest.
